Job Purpose: To assist in providing an engaging, inclusive learning environment that supports the developmental and educational needs of all the children, under the overall direction of the PE Teacher/ Heads of PE. To support the Physical Education department by assisting with various tasks and activities related to the delivery of physical education programs
Key Relationships (Internal and External): Teachers, Students, Parents, Principal and other members of the School Senior Leadership Team
Key Accountabilities:
· Work with individual or small groups of children as directed by the subject teacher/s.
· Assist the PE teacher in planning and preparing for physical education lessons and activities.
· Support the implementation of physical education curriculum and instructional materials under the guidance of the PE teacher.
· Supervise and provide guidance to students during PE classes, ensuring their safety and adherence to rules and regulations.
· Organize and set up equipment and materials needed for PE lessons and activities.
· Demonstrate and instruct students on proper techniques and skills related to various physical activities and sports.
· Monitor and evaluate student performance and progress during PE classes, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
· Assist in maintaining accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance in PE activities.
· Collaborate with the PE teacher to develop and implement strategies for student behavior management and discipline.
· Assist in organizing and coordinating school-wide sports events, tournaments, and extracurricular activities.
· Provide support during physical fitness assessments, helping with data collection and record-keeping.
· Help maintain a clean and organized PE facility, ensuring the proper storage and maintenance of equipment.
· Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering students' enthusiasm for physical fitness and sports.
· Assist in ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines during PE classes and activities.
· Collaborate with other staff members and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in physical education.
Person Specification:
Education: Minimum High school education or equivalent; additional certifications in physical education or sports-related fields are a plus.
Experience: Experience working with children or in a school setting, preferably in a physical education context. Strong knowledge of various sports, physical activities, and fitness concepts.
Competencies:
· Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
· Enthusiasm and aptitude for working with students
· Good team player
· Ability to use own initiative
· Physical fitness and the ability to actively participate in sports and physical activities
· Knowledge of health and safety guidelines in physical education settings
· Proficiency in using basic office software and educational technology tools.
Skills

DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC and GCE A Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. We feel the opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive and varied Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.
