Recruiting - Outstanding Key Stage 2 Learning Assistant 

At DBSEH, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, engaging and committed Outstanding Key Stage 2 Learning Assistant who have a proven track record of supporting children and teaching staff. 

Aside from experience, personality is very important, we look for inspirational support staff who leave a lasting impression on students for years to follow. If you're able to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative and dynamic attitude then we want to hear from you! 

Professional Requirements 

  • Minimum A - Levels or higher (degree/certificate has to be attested) 
  • A self-aware, reflective, collaborative and proactive practitioner. 
  • Drive and enthusiasm to support children with an inclusive approach. 
  • High expectations that motivate students. 
  • Open and approachable, able to communicate with parents in a positive manner that builds partnership. 
  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills. 

Experience: 

  • Experience or aptitude for working with and supporting students of ranging abilities, various ages and with special educational needs. 
  • Previous teaching or teaching assistant experience in a similar age group preferred  
  • It is essential that the successful candidate be able to plan and deliver interventions according to needs with a particular emphasis on phonics a supporting English Language Learners (ELL)

Communication & Interaction:

  • Effective Communication- Engaging clearly with teachers, pupils, and parents
  • Active Listening- Understanding student needs and instructions from teachers
  • Interpersonal Skills- Building positive relationships with students and staff

Classroom Management & Pedagogy:

  • Behavior Management- Applying positive reinforcement and managing classroom dynamics.
  • Supporting Learning- Assisting with lesson planning, preparing materials, and helping students with special needs (SEND).
  • Instructional Support- Leading group activities, conducting one-on-one sessions, and supporting curriculum delivery

Technical Skills:

  • IT Literacy- Utilizing classroom technology and software for learning
  • Functional Literacy/Numeracy- Strong core skills to support student work
