Job Purpose
The Inclusion Teacher will play a key role in ensuring that all children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 are fully supported to access learning in a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment.
The role involves planning and delivering targeted support for pupils with additional needs, adapting provision to meet individual learning profiles, and working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
We are seeking a kind, patient, and highly collaborative practitioner who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 curriculum, and is committed and passionate about inclusive education and making a positive difference to every child.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver targeted, high-quality support for pupils with additional needs in Early Years and KS1
- Adapt and differentiate the EYFS and KS1 curriculum to meet a range of learning needs
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with clear, measurable targets
- Support pupils to access learning both within and outside the classroom
- Use a range of inclusive strategies to support communication, engagement, and independence
Assessment & Progress
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to identify pupils’ needs
- Monitor, track, and evaluate pupil progress against targets
- Write clear and informative reports, identifying next steps
- Ensure provision is responsive and adjusted based on pupil outcomes
Pastoral & Social Development
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support wellbeing and engagement
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with class teachers to identify needs and plan appropriate support
- Model strategies and share best practice with teachers and teaching assistants
- Liaise regularly with parents to support consistency between home and school
- Collaborate with external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support
- Contribute positively to the wider school team and ethos
Inclusion & Provision
- Support pupils with a range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
- Speech, language, and communication needs
- Social, emotional, and behavioural needs (including ADHD)
- Sensory or physical needs
- Ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Attend and contribute to meetings and training
- Support health and safety procedures
Undertake any additional duties as reasonably required

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field
- Recognised teaching qualification
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience supporting children with additional needs in Early Years and/or KS1
- Experience working with IEPs and targeted interventions
