Job specification
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based music lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum, fostering creativity, confidence and a love of music.
- Lead interactive sessions incorporating singing, rhythm, movement and the use of simple instruments.
- Use strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Plan lessons that reflect children’s individual needs, interests and developmental stages.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including children with SEND and EAL.
- Observe and assess children’s musical development in line with EYFS assessment practices.
- Establish and maintain positive behaviour expectations in line with school policy.
- Use ICT and appropriate technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support school performances, assemblies, productions and enrichment activities.
- Maintain and organise music resources, ensuring the safe use and storage of instruments.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding children’s progress while maintaining confidentiality.
- Uphold safeguarding, child protection, health and safety policies at all times.
- Contribute positively to team meetings and collaborate with the wider EYFS and school community.
- Participate in after-school activities and undertake other duties as reasonably requested.

Person Specification:
Education: A high-quality degree in Music with QTS
Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching music, in an EYFS setting
Competencies:
- Be passionate about teaching music to young children in a hands-on, engaging way, with a focus on helping them achieve the best learning outcomes.
- Support and guide students in developing their performance and composition skills, helping them bring their musical ideas to life.
- Have a strong understanding of music theory and its practical application in teaching.
- Confidently demonstrate and model singing and performing in the classroom.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, fostering positive professional relationships.
- Be well-versed in and committed to upholding current safeguarding procedures.

Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation is a purpose built co-educational early years childhood facility for three to five-year olds, located in Jumeirah Islands, Dubai. Following the EYFS (the Early Years Foundation Stage) which is compulsory in England, DBSJP-F offers holistic learning and development requirements designed to address the specific needs of young children and to ensure readiness for entry into Year One of primary school. Dubai British Foundation is a feeder school to Dubai British School Jumeirah Park.
